Dr. Selly Ba is a sociologist specialised in gender issues related to Religion, migration and security. She holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) on Gender and Politics.

She has over fifteen years of expertise and technical assistance for the integration and implementation of gender equality in Senegal and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) countries on behalf of several donors and cooperation agencies. She is the director of the Gender Expertise Group (GEG) firm since 2017. She has a good knowledge and understanding of the intervention strategies and programming frameworks of public institutions in West Africa. She also has a strong understanding of the planning/programming procedures and tools of United Nations’ agencies and sectoral government bodies.

Furthermore, as a fervent advocate of human rights and active citizenship, she is a member of several platforms within Senegalese civil society. She authored several publications.
